A HISTORY OF THE EAST LYME PUBLIC TRUST FOUNDATION

East Lyme Public Trust Foundation Our History

The Boardwalk during the Covid-19 Virus Pandemic

“So, I’m going to have a copy of this play put in the cornerstone…So-people a thousand years from now-this is the way we were in the provinces north of New York at the beginning of the twentieth century-This is the way we were: in our growing up and in our marrying and in our living and in our dying.”

“Our Town” by Thorton Wilder

Introduction

In April 2020, as I began to understand the import of the  CoVid-19 Pandemic, I decided to use the quarantine time to write a “history” of the East Lyme Boardwalk and the role of the East Lyme Public Trust Foundation, so that future generations would understand the time and effort it took to accomplish this beloved project.

I wanted to cover the Founders, the Volunteers, the Boardwalk enhancements, the Non-Boardwalk projects of the East Lyme Public Trust Foundation, and more.  I hope you will find this series informative.
